My dad and I decided even though it was supposed to be windy Saturday morning to go fishing. Stopped at Jordan's Bait & Tackle, right next to the cove store and picked up some live shrimp. We got on the water kinda late around 9:30 or 10 to find the wind was blowing about hurricane strenth. Drifted a few of our normal spots but even with 2 drift anchors out we were moving pretty good. Dad caught a big black drum right off and we thought maybe the day would be pretty good, considering the weather. Then the bite really slowed down. Went to another one of our favorite drifting points and started catching alot of little bait snatchers and rat reds so we moved again. By this time it was white capping everywhere. Went up the ship channel to try to find some calmer water and headed over to Burnette Bay. Caught a few keeper reds there but could land any trout. We ended our fishing trip a little early around 12:30 with enough red fish to throw on the bar-b-que pit and headed in. The fish are out there, now we just need the weather to cooperate. Good luck!
